Nauseating

Get to the point where mediocrity is nauseating.

The word comes from the Latin mediocris... literally, halfway up the mountain. Mediocrity is stopping partway up your own climb because the middle got comfortable enough, even though you know there's more in you that wants to be built.

The voice that keeps you there sounds responsible... now isn't the right time, be grateful for what you have, who are you to want more. Listen to it long enough and ten years go by.

Let the thought of living that way make you sick, and use that sickness to push you in the opposite direction. You're here to build and walk your own path, and if you're honest with yourself, you already know what it's asking of you next.
